PART 2 of 5: START HERE — Finding Your Weight Loss “Why”

HEART PLAN weight loss logo

To the weight RE-GAIN companies you are a “repeat customer.” Fully 95% fail to keep the weight off as long as one year. So, their customers try it again. A REPEAT CUSTOMER is a polite way of saying the “weight loss” program failed to have you keep the weight off the first time. If it worked, you’d only have to do it one time.

Or, as a spokesperson for the biggest RE-GAIN Company testified under oath at a government hearing in London:
“Weight regain is an inevitable part of dieting and most dieters put any weight they lose back on eventually. People have to get over the idea that you just diet once and that is it.”

Whew, isn’t that a bit shocking to you? They are publicly declaring that their program is only a short time remedy, that they worthless for you long term.

But their admission gets worse…

In a report to its stockholders, the same company noted above said it is proud that they have a very“ high lifetime revenue per customer.” Meaning, most of their money is made from people who come back over and over…they make most of their money from “repeat customers.”

With all those “repeat customers” the RE-GAIN companies are so proud of, you have to ask:

  • Are the RE-GAIN companies ignorant of the science of what causes their programs to create weight re-gain? (If they are, you’d have to really worry about what they’re telling you to do to lose weight, wouldn’t you?) OR…
  • Are the RE-GAIN companies counting on you failing to stop your weight re-gain, so they can get you back next year, or the year after that? (Isn’t that the definition of evil?)
  • Thus, the RE-GAIN Companies are either ignorant or they are evil. Or both. Which is it? (There is no other option…no other way to characterize what they are doing.)
  • Isn’t that like shooting you in the foot, then charging to take you to the hospital?
  • Any way you look at it, they always profit from the RE-GAIN they cause you.

To me, that’s just not right — incompetent or evil? Are those your only weight loss choices? You deserve better. All of us do.

by Boyd Jentzsch
Boyd, a recovering Attorney, turned to weight loss research 20 years ago when he lost his mother to the lifelong effects of obesity. He has spent the ensuing years searching the science, and formulating a comprehensive metabolic map of the body — the only complete map of its kind. The map reveals the causes and effects of obesity and related chronic lifestyle diseases. It shows the only proven pathways to preventing and losing excess weight. From that unique foundation, he and his team created a weight loss education program that has helped tens of thousands to lose weight and keep it off. Plus, they created innovative and fun fitness and nutrition education programs for elementary school children, proven to reduce the early bio-markers for childhood obesity. HEART PLAN is a collection of his observations over the years of the emotional impact and motivational challenges nearly everyone faces when trying to keep lost weight off permanently.

  1. Rebecca Swenor says

That is wrong and they know if you loose it and stop taking product you will be back when you start gaining again.

  2. Ok i am heading to the gym later on.. i need to keep the weight off!

  3. lisa jones says

    That’s Why I Don
t Do Any Of These Programs Because You Need To Take Forever On & I Can’t Afford It For The Rest Of My Life!!

  4. Paula Parker says

Got to do it slowly, take of the weight that is. Good luck to all!

  5. It’s odd that weight loo company comes from repeat customer which might mean their programs are not enduring so customers need to go back.

  6. That is a good question to start with Why do you want to lose weight and how do you plan to start.

  7. These groups seem to know how to trick us with their advertisements!

  8. I rather just do it on my own and go to the gym

  9. that is why making your self focus to losing weight is very important. it diesnt happen overnight. you must work for it in the gym hehe

  10. I need to lose weight so bad. I am trying to hard, but it really is hard – Even though I know I would live a happier and better life.

  11. I think the way to do it is that companies must promote the best products that won’t warrant customers to come back for themselves because they have already lost weight successfully but to recommend the same products to others’ use.

  12. This made me remind of one ancient proverb,
“Breakfast like an emperor lunch like a king and dine like a beggar”.

    Awesome words.

    Saad A.

  13. I just started walking with a friend, which I like to run but I wanted to slow my progress down!

  14. michele d says

Walking is wonderful for your heart. In 3 years, I’ve gone down 3 pant sizes. I just watch what I eat and try to stay away from comfort foods. That helped me.

  15. You just have to find things that work for you. Different people will lose or gain on/after every programme.

  16. the repeat customer is the best customer to have.. you forever get money from them.. gotta make the bacon somehow (sarcasm)

  17. A lot of companies in a lot of different markets do this. It’s not “right” per se, but it’s how they make money. It’s up to us to be smart consumers, and realize that there is no “quick fix” for weight loss.

  18. I think weight and weigh loss/gain is more personal than they think today. Not everything works for everyone. I would like to find the way that works for me though.

  19. Oh, I had no idea about this! It is really immoral, but we should keep away from these companies and remember, that weigh loss needs a lot of work and dedication.

  20. Joyful Gifts by Julie says

I have lost and regained weight many times over my lifetime. I stopped doing any plans that I have to pay for years ago. They help you lose weight one time and when you go back a second time for some reason the same plan doesn’t work. They just keep sucking your wallet. I do my best to exercise, but only manage to maintain a higher weight than I want too. But, at least I’ve stopped giving the ripoff weight loss companies my money.

  21. Great point! I am always leery of anything promising “faster than lightening results”. Anything worth having takes a bit of work.

  22. I wish there was a magic pill but there’s not. Diet and Exercise 101.

  23. Interesting— exercise has so many benefits. Everyone should be moving all the time 🙂

  24. Dedication and commitment should be the number one priority if one wants to lose weight. Exercise and diet comes hand and hand too.
